Attempt all questions from Section A and any one question from Section B.
All working, including rough work, must be clearly shown and must be done on the same sheet as the rest of the answer. Omission of essential working will result in the loss of marks.

Section A (Answer all questions)

Fill in the blanks:

1.     Simplify  giving  answers  with  positive  index :

(ii)(3a2c4) ÷( 27b3)

2.     Check  whether  3, 8, 39  and  104  are  in  proportion  or  not  .

3.      Rohan  travels  a  distance  of  20 Km  and  comes back  in  4 hours. Find  his  speed  in  m/s .
                                                                                                     

4.     Lines  AB  and  CD  intersect  at O. Given  BOD  = 840  ,find  (i) COA
(ii) COB




5.     Find  the  third  proportional  to  3 and  9 .

Attempt any one question from Section B.

Solve  the  following  :


A  train  130 m  long  passes  a  railway platform  150m  long  in  10sec. How   long  will it  take   to  pass  another  platform  which  is  110 m  long ?


If  a : b =  4 : 5  and  b : c = 6 : 7 , find  a : b : c .

Evaluate  ( 4 n-1 x 16 n-1 )  ÷  4 n  x  16 n-1



Solve  the  following  :

A    and   B   start  from  the  same  place  in  the   same  direction  and  at  the  same  time  with  a  speed  of  8 Km/hr   and  6 Km/hr  respectively. After  6  hours  who  will  be  ahead  and  by  how  much ?


If   a : b =  5 : 6  and  b : c = 4 : 7 , find  a : b : c .

If  m = -2 and  n = 3 find the  value  of
(i)                mn – nm
(ii)             m2 + n2 – 2 mn

Construct  an  angle  of  45o using  ruler and  compass .
