Nanu visits a grocery store. With the money in per purse, if
she buys 6 kgs of rice, she will be short by Rs 6, and if she buys 8 kgs of
rice, then she will be short by Rs 14. What is the money Nanu is carrying in
her purse?
Answer:
8 kg of rice = money in purse + Rs 14
6 kg of rice = money in purse + Rs 6
So, for 2 kg of extra rice purchase Nanu has to shell out Rs
8 more, which means for every KG of rice, Nanu pays Rs 4.
So, the amount she has in her purse = 6 x 4 – 6 = 24 – 6 = Rs 18
