4 litres are drawn from a
barrel full of pure acetone. It is then filled with water. Then 6 litres of the
mixture is drawn from the barrel and 6 litres of water added back to the
barrel. If the ratio of quantity of acetone to quantity of water in the barrel
is 1:2, then what was the volume of the barrel?

mixture there is water to the extent of 25%. These
two mixtures are mixed
in the ratio 5: 3. Find the percentage of
water in the final mixture.
