circle

find the coordinates of point of contact between the bigger and the smaller circle.

Answer:

The measure of sides of triangle ABC are, AB = 3 cm, CA = 1 cm
and therefore, BC = 2√2 cm, using Pythagoras theorem
So, Sin x = 2√2/3, and Cos x = 1/3
DE = AE Sin x = 2* 2√2/3 =4√2/3
AD = AE Cos x = 2*1/3 = 2/3
So, OF = 2 + 4√2/3, EF = 2 – 2/3 = 4/3
So, coordinate of point E = (2 + 4√2/3, 4/3)
